Avea, one of the leading mobile operators in Turkey, increased its income by 21 percent to 816 million Turkish Lira (TL) in the third quarter of 2011 when compared to the same period of 2010. (one USD equals 1.757 TL)  
Avea's CEO Erkan Akdemir said on Monday that total income of the company reached a record-high level in the third quarter, adding that the income rose eight percent in the third quarter when compared to the previous quarter.
Akdemir noted that earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization (EBITDA) of Avea was posted as 115 million TL, and its EBITDA margin was 14 percent.
Company's EBITDA had been 69 million TL, and its EBITDA margin had been nine percent in the previous quarter, he added.
Avea, a GSM 1800 mobile operator of Turkey, was founded in 2004. The youngest operator of Turkey, Avea has a nationwide customer base of 12.2 million as of the second quarter of 2011. It offers services to 96.61 percent of the country's population. Avea has roaming agreements with 649 operators in 199 countries.
