7TH BORDER GATE IN CYPRUS TO BE OPENED THURSDAY
LEFKOSA - As Cypriot leaders push ahead with negotiations to find an extensive solution to the Cyprus problem, another border gate is set be opened in the island on Thursday.

The gate will be inaugurated by Turkish Cypriot President Dervis Eroglu and Greek Cypriot leader Demetris Christofias. EU Commissioner for enlargement Stefan Fule will also attend the ceremony.
With the opening of the Yesilirmak gate, controlled land access will be allowed to Erenkoy, which is a TRNC territory in the Greek Cypriot side. The gate will also reduce the travel time of Greek Cypriots living in this region to Lefkosa.
The ground breaking ceremony for the border gate was held on March 29, 2010.
There are currently 6 gates open to crossing in Cyprus- 1 in Gazimagusa, 1 in Beyarmudu, 3 in Lefkosa and 1 in Bostanci.
