2011 GE Air Conditioners Provide Energy Efficient Cooling and Supplemental Heating for Comfort in the Home

BRUSSELS--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Last summer was hot, hot, hot! In fact, it was noted as the hottest year on record globally. This year, fight the heat with an energy efficient 2011 GE air conditioner. These split air conditioners are a great choice for comfortable cooling or supplemental heating for the home.

The new 2011 GE air conditioner lineup is “A” energy class rated and offers advanced climate control features. Consumers may choose from two series: the GE sleek design On-Off series of air conditioners with power output from 9 to 21 kBtu/h or the innovative low-energy consumption DC inverter technology units.

The 2011 GE DC inverter series is rated A/A energy class. “Air conditioner units with DC inverters maintain the desired room temperature more precisely than conventional models,” notes GE Product Manager James Dofton. “They provide a more comfortable environment by reducing temperature swings,” he continued.

Reliable GE air treatment products are built to last. All GE air conditioners only use compressors from world class manufacturers. The heat exchangers are coated with a hydrophilic layer to improve resistance to corrosions and to facilitate the defrosting process.

The 2011 GE air conditioners feature an elegant flat panel design with actual temperature display that discreetly fits in any room décor. The easy-to-read LED display gives guests precise control of room temperature. A wireless remote control with liquid crystal display (LCD) enables the control of the unit from a distance.

In addition to these features, GE split air conditioners provide guest comfort with:

  • Sleep Mode: This feature saves energy by gradually warming or cooling (down one degree Celsius per hour in cooling mode, up one degree Celsius per hour in heating mode). These gradual temperature changes go unnoticed as guests sleep comfortably.
  • Surround mode: The air conditioner controls the rate of cooling or heating based on input from the surrounding room temperature via the remote controller.
  • Auto-Restart: If the air-conditioner is in operation when a power outage occurs, it will restart automatically at its previous settings when the power returns. This feature can be deactivated, if desired.
  • Rapid cooling/heating: GE air conditioners have special programs designed to change the temperature quickly to maximum cool or maximum heat.
