The building of Iran's national newspaper Sazandegi in Tehran has been damaged in joint US-Israeli strikes, according to the International Federation of Journalists (IFJ).

In a written statement, the IFJ reported that the Tehran headquarters of Sazandegi suffered heavy damage amid ongoing attacks by the US and Israel.

The Sazandegi newspaper building in Tehran was directly hit in Friday's US-Israeli strike, with no casualties reported.

Sazandegi is a reformist daily newspaper in Iran. It was founded in 2018.

It was briefly suspended by authorities in February 2023 after a critical front-page story on the economy and rising prices, but the ban was later lifted.

Regional tensions have escalated since the US and Israel launched a large-scale attack on Iran on Saturday, killing more than 1,000 people, including Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, over 150 schoolgirls, and senior military officials.

Iran has retaliated with sweeping barrages of its own that have targeted US bases, diplomatic facilities, and military personnel across the region, as well as multiple Israeli cities. The attacks have continued to escalate.
