US Capitol police respond to non-credible bomb threat at Democratic headquarters
Security sweep done in Democratic National Committee building 'out of an abundance of caution,' says spokesperson

ISTANBUL
US Capitol Police responded to a bomb threat at Democratic National Committee (DNC) headquarters in Washington on Thursday which turned out to be non-credible, Axios reported.
"This afternoon, there was a bomb threat to DNC HQ that was determined to not be credible by the U.S. Capitol Police," a DNC spokesperson said.
The incident prompted authorities to conduct a security sweep of the building in the Capitol complex "out of an abundance of caution."
The spokesperson expressed gratitude to law enforcement for their quick response.
The "potential security concern" comes amid heightened security concerns around political facilities in Washington following the killing of conservative commentator Charlie Kirk Wednesday afternoon while addressing a group of students at Utah Valley University, some 40 miles (64.4 kilometers) south of Salt Lake City.
Some US politicians have blamed the assassination on "leftists," though no suspect has been apprehended.
