The U.S. will host next year's Group of Seven (G-7) summit at the Camp David retreat in the state of Maryland, President Donald Trump said Tuesday.

"We are going to do it at Camp David," Trump told reporters during a NATO meeting in London with Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.

The summit is scheduled to take place June 10-12 and participants will include of Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan and UK as well as EU representatives.

In October, Trump reversed his decision to host the summit at his Doral golf resort in Miami after backlash from Democrats and ethics watchdog groups.

"I thought I was doing something very good for our Country by using Trump National Doral, in Miami, for hosting the G-7 Leaders," Trump said on Twitter at the time, boasting the complex's size and proximity to Miami International Airport.

Trump was criticized for mixing his personal business and official capacity. The decision was viewed as an attempt by the president to influence foreign governments on his behalf.

The Constitutional Accountability Center, an ethics watchdog group, accused Trump of "mocking the Constitution" by treating the summit like a commercial for his businesses.
