LONDON
The U.K. Supreme Court on Wednesday ruled against U.S. presidential candidate Donald Trump's efforts to stop an offshore wind farm project near his Scottish golf resort outside Aberdeen in eastern Scotland.
The wind farm project was approved by the Scottish government in 2013.
Turmp's proposal to halt construction of the 11-turbine European Offshore Wind Deployment Center was dismissed with a unanimousl vote by justices at the country's highest court.
In his appeal of a lower court ruling against his demand, Trump argued that the project would spoil the view of the golf course at his resort.
The court decision came after Trump's comments that parts of London were “so radicalized” they had become no-go zones for police, a statement that raised hackles in the country.
Trump also caused global outrage to his anti-Muslim statements on Dec. 8, when he said that Muslims should be banned from entering the U.S.
Trump has become a frontrunner in the race to become the Republican party’s candidate in the 2016 presidential election. His campaign has been filled with provocative statements, often about immigrants from neighboring Mexico and refugees from Syria or other Muslim countries.
