Trump says another 100 million barrels of oil heading to US from Venezuela
'We're getting along so well with them,' US president says, adding ties with Venezuela are 'extraordinary'
WASHINGTON
US President Donald Trump said Monday that an additional 100 million barrels of oil from Venezuela is coming to the United States.
"We've taken out 100 million barrels of oil. It's right now in Houston...Now, they have another 100 million barrels coming, and it's like a partnership. We're getting along so well with them," he said at a news conference in the state of Florida.
Trump said it is "great" both for Venezuela and the US.
After months of heightened tensions, the US captured Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro on Jan. 3, triggering a series of developments, including Venezuela's vice president and oil minister Delcy Rodriguez being sworn in as interim president, changes to the country’s flagship oil law, and the release of some political prisoners.
Trump said the relationship is "extraordinary" with Venezuela.
