Putin-Trump one-on-one meeting to begin Friday at 1930GMT: Russian presidential aide
Russian, US presidents' summit on Friday to focus on Ukrainian crisis resolution, says Ushakov

MOSCOW
A meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and US President Donald Trump will begin at 11.30 am local time (1930GMT) in the US state of Alaska on Friday with a one-on-one conversation accompanied by interpreters, Russian presidential aide Yury Ushakov said.
The meeting will be held at "one of the facilities" of Elmendorf-Richardson Air Force Base in Anchorage, Alaska. Ushakov told reporters in Moscow on Thursday.
"It will all begin tomorrow, August 15, at approximately 11.30 local time, with a conversation between Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin and Donald Trump. This meeting will be held one-on-one, with interpreters present. Then negotiations will take place as part of the delegations, which will continue over a working breakfast," he said.
Negotiations between Putin and Trump will take place on an equal basis, with five members from each side, said Ushakov. The Russian delegation includes foreign, defense, and finance ministers, as well as the head of the Russian Direct Investment Fund.
He said the members of the Russian delegation included "Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, presidential advisor on foreign policy Yury Ushakov, Defense Minister Andrey Belousov, Finance Minister Anton Siluanov, and presidential envoy for investment and economic cooperation with foreign countries Kirill Dmitriev."
Ushakov explained that the number of participants is limited due to "the sensitive nature of the discussions."
The composition of the US delegation has also been determined, but Ushakov said that he believes it would be more appropriate if Washington announced it.
"Thus, aside from the presidents, there will be five additional participants per delegation. Naturally, nearby will also be a group of experts ready to assist," he noted.
The main topic of the summit between Putin and Trump will be the resolution of the Ukrainian crisis, but other issues will also be discussed, he said.
"Regarding the agenda for the summit, I think it's obvious that the primary issue will be the resolution of the Ukraine crisis, taking into account previous consultations held here in the Kremlin, as you may recall, on August 6, involving Steve Witkoff, special envoy of the president of the US," he added.
The delegation is also expected to exchange views on further development of bilateral cooperation, particularly in the trade-economy sphere, he said.
"Note that this area of cooperation holds great promise but is, unfortunately, still largely unexplored so far," Ushakov added.
Also, broader issues related to maintaining peace and security, along with current pressing international and regional questions, will certainly come up, he stressed.
Ushakov also found it "symbolic" that the place of meeting lies next to a memorial cemetery where nine Soviet aviators, two soldiers, and two civilians are buried -- all of them died between 1942 and 1945 when transferring aircraft from the US to the Soviet Union under the Lend-Lease program.
"Therefore, this meeting will happen near such a historic location commemorating the combat brotherhood between our nations, which is especially poignant given the eightieth anniversary of victory over Nazi Germany and militarist Japan," he noted.
Following talks, both Putin and Trump are expected to hold a joint press conference, Ushakov said.
