Police bodycam footage reveals moments leading to fatal shooting of New Orleans attacker
Footage shows Jabbar firing from behind airbag after his truck crashed into crowd

WASHINGTON
Police body-camera footage released Friday shows New Orleans attacker Shamsud-Din Jabbar, who went on a deadly rampage with a truck on New Year’s Day, firing at officers before being fatally shot by police.
The footage, provided by the New Orleans Police Department (NOPD), shows Jabbar shooting from behind an airbag after his truck crashed into a crowd of revelers on Bourbon Street
Three officers discharged their weapons, according to officials. The video captures two officers standing near the driver’s door, one with his gun raised, while a third officer, positioned in front of the truck and not visible in the footage, firing his weapon.
As shots rang out, officers can be seen diving for cover amid the chaos. Police did not disclose the exact number of shots fired by Jabbar, citing an ongoing investigation.
At least 14 people were killed and dozens injured when Jabbar, a US Army veteran, drove a pickup truck into a crowd of revelers in the French Quarter.
