ISTANBUL

Kuwait said Monday that two of its naval servicemen have been killed amid the US-Iran conflict.

In a statement, the General Staff of the Kuwaiti Armed Forces said Sgt. Walid Majid Suleiman “was martyred while on duty.”

The military later announced that Sargeant Abdulaziz Abdulmohsen Dakhel Nasser, another member of the naval forces, was killed Monday evening while performing his national duties.

It did not provide further details on the circumstances surrounding the deaths.

Regional tensions escalated Saturday when the US and Israel launched a large-scale attack on Iran, killing several top Iranian leaders, including Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
