US airstrikes since March 15 have killed at least 125 civilians and injured 256, most of them women and children

ISTANBUL
At least one person was killed as US warplanes carried out more than 20 airstrikes on Yemen’s northern provinces of Sanaa and Al-Jawf late Wednesday, according to Houthi-run media.
An US attack targeting the Al-Nahda residential neighborhood in Al-Thawra district in the capital Sanaa left one dead, Al-Masirah TV reported on X.
The channel also reported 14 US airstrikes on the Al-Hafa area in Al-Sabeen district of the capital.
US warplanes also targeted Bani Hashish district with three airstrikes, Manakhah district with one airstrike and the Naqil al-Fardah area, it said.
The US has not issued a statement on the strikes.
Al-Masirah TV also reported strikes on Al-Hazm district in Al-Jawf province.
US airstrikes have killed at least 125 civilians since March 15 and injured 256, mostly women and children, according to Houthi data. The casualties exclude losses for the group’s fighters.
US President Donald Trump said last month that he had ordered "decisive and powerful military action" against the Houthi group and later threatened to "completely annihilate them."
The Houthis have targeted ships passing through the Red and Arabian seas, the Bab al-Mandab Strait and the Gulf of Aden since November 2023 in solidarity with Palestinians in the Gaza Strip, where 51,000 people have been killed in a brutal Israeli assault for more than 18 months.
The group halted attacks when a Gaza ceasefire was declared in January between Israel and the Palestinian resistance group Hamas but resumed them after Israel renewed airstrikes on Gaza last month.
