Tunisia will hold parliamentary polls on Oct. 6 of this year, to be followed by presidential elections on Nov. 10, according to the country’s official election commission.
Commission head Nabil Baffoun made the announcement at a Wednesday press conference in capital Algiers.
Tunisia is seen as the only Arab country whose democratic transition successfully weathered the “Arab Spring” uprisings, which shook the Middle East and North Africa in 2011.
