Somalia’s Puntland executes 10 al-Shabaab terrorists by firing squad
Terrorists were found guilty of involvement in killings in city of Galkayo

MOGADISHU, Somalia
Somalia’s semiautonomous state of Puntland on Saturday executed 10 members of the al-Qaeda-affiliated terrorist group al-Shabaab.
The execution by firing squad was carried out by the police in the north-central city of Galkayo, the administrative capital of Mudug region.
A government statement said the terrorists were sentenced to death by a military court after being found guilty of involvement in killings in Galkayo.
This follows a recent jailbreak involving several terrorist inmates that killed five inmates and three soldiers in the Somali capital Mogadishu in July.
The military court in Somalia has been carrying out death penalties for years despite pressure from international partners.
