ISTANBUL 

Türkiye's Communications Director Fahrettin Altun on Tuesday shared the trailer of Son Aksam Yemegi, or The Last Dinner, a film depicting the night before Mustafa Kemal Ataturk declared Türkiye a republic on Oct. 29, 1923.

"I am honored to present to you the trailer ... which was brought to life with the contributions of our Presidency's Directorate of Communications and will meet the audience on October 27," Altun said on X.

"The film brings to the big screen the night before Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk declared the Republic. We are sure that our nation will show great interest in this beautiful and meaningful film."

The Turkish nation is gearing up for festivities marking the 100th year of the Turkish Republic, which falls on Sunday, Oct. 29.

The Communications Directorate is organizing various events across the country and abroad to celebrate the centennial in a manner befitting the "Century of Türkiye."

Altun said in line with President Recep Tayyip Erdogan's vision of preserving the past, building the present, and shaping the future, the 100th anniversary of the republic will be celebrated with national unity and the valuable contributions of all institutions.
