Japan's Ambassador to Ankara celebrates Türkiye on centennial anniversary of Republic Day
Takahiko Katsumata tells Anadolu he has observed Türkiye's increasing geopolitical significance over the years

ANKARA
Japanese Ambassador to Ankara, Takahiko Katsumata, extended congratulations to the Turkish people on the 100th anniversary of the Republic of Türkiye.
He said he has been a long-time follower of Türkiye's development.
Katsumata told Anadolu that he has observed Türkiye's increasing geopolitical significance over the years and expressed hope that Ankara will continue to provide support to the world as a "major" country in the future.
2024 marks the 100th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Japan and Türkiye, said Katsumata.
He said high-level visits to Türkiye are expected and numerous events such as concerts, exhibitions and symposiums will be organized throughout the year.
Similar events are also planned in Japan, said Katsumata.
He expressed "happiness at the prospect of both Turkish and Japanese people feeling closer to each other on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of diplomatic relations, hoping for everyone's participation in the events and suggested celebrating the 100th anniversary of diplomatic relations together."
