MOSCOW (AA) - Syrian President Bashar al-Assad on Thursday said that Syria accepted the offer of leaving chemical weapons under international control as it came from Russia, not due to US threat.
Speaking to Russia's state-run TV channel Russia-24, Assad also said that Syrian government had prepared the necessary documents for the United Nations (UN) in order to leave chemical weapons under international control.
On the other hand, Assad added that UN inspectors should return to Syria and continue to investigate use of chemical weapons in Syria.
