DAMASCUS
Syrian President Bashar al-Assad on Thursday said he was determined in "counter-terrorism" and finding a "political solution" to the crisis in his country.
In a statement made to Syria's official news agency SANA after meeting several Tunisian politicians in the Syrian capital of Damascus on Thursday, Assad said he was determined to fight against those supporting terror in the region and in the world in general and in finding a political solution in Syria.
"Syrians appreciate the stance of the Tunisian people. Syrians are aware that some misguided Tunisians have arrived in Syria to fight," Assad underlined.
Tunisian Foreign Minister Othman Jerandi, about 10 days ago, had said that they estimated around 800 Tunisians were fighting against the Syrian regime in Syria.
