CAIRO
Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas and leader of Hamas, Khaled Mashal will meet in the Egyptian capital of Cairo on Tuesday to discuss the establishment of a "national consensus government".
Speaking to the Anadolu Agency (AA), a member of the Palestinian Fatah Central Committee, Azzam al-Ahmad said that Abbas and Mashal would come together in a meeting to be also attended by officials from Hamas and Fatah movement.
Abbas and Mashal would hold talks on points in which a consensus was established last week, al-Ahmad noted.
Mahmoud Abbas and Khaled Mashal began talks on a "national consensus government" under Egypt's mediation last week and reached an agreement to implement the decisions taken in Cairo in May 2011.
Officials of Hamas and the Fatah movement had agreed to establish a transitional government of independent names led by Abbas.
