Syrian rocket wounds woman in Turkey

A Syrian woman has been wounded after a rocket, believed to have been fired from Syria, exploded in the southern Turkish town of Yayladag.

The rocket struck the wall of a mosque on Monday, while three shells also fell on empty land in the village of Guzelyurt, 3.5km from the Syrian border.

“A 60-year-old female Syrian citizen was wounded by a rocket at around 2.10 p.m. (1110GMT). In accordance with the change in the rules of engagement, our artillery on the border responded in like, toward the area from which the rocket was fired,” said a statement released on the Hatay governorship's website.
