ALEPPO, Syria
The death toll from Wednesday’s regime airstrikes on Aleppo province has increased to 12 schoolchildren, a Syrian opposition coalition representative said.
The Syrian Revolution General Commission said regime air forces had launched barrel and vacuum bomb attacks on a school in the opposition-controlled Khansaa village and Eissa village.
At least 28 others were also reportedly killed in the attack on Eissa village.
The commission is a coalition which represents opposition groups fighting the Bashar al-Assad regime in Syria.
Syria has been gripped by constant fighting since the regime launched a violent crackdown in response to anti-government protests in March 2011, triggering a conflict that has killed more than 220,000, according to the UN.
