NEW YORK
All seven occupants of a small plane were killed Tuesday when it crashed in the U.S. state of Illinois, according to local media.
The Cessna 414 aircraft took off from Indianapolis and crashed outside of Bloomington, Illinois, The Chicago Tribune reported, citing Federal Aviation Administration officials.
Two members of Illinois State University's athletic department were among the dead, the daily said.
Torrey Ward was an associate head basketball coach at the school, and Aaron Leetch, a deputy athletics director.
"The entire campus (is) in mourning," the university's president Larry Dietz said in a statement.
The Chicago Tribune said two other victims were identified as Terry Stralow, a bar manager, and Scott Bittner, owner of a meat-processing company.
No information about the other victims was available.
The cause of the crash is unknown, but there were weather issues near the crash site with heavy fog blanketed the area beginning Monday night, according to reports.
The victims were returning from having viewed the NCAA basketball championship game between Duke and Wisconsin on Monday night, local media reported.
