Speaking to AA correspondent, school official Hasan Abdullah said that they reopened a school in a relatively safe region. He said that they went to the villages and persuaded the villagers to send their children to school.
He said that there were around 250 school-age-children in the region but only 86 of them started coming to school.
Abdullah said that due to the attacks of pro-Assad forces, many villages were destroyed, and many people fled to Turkey or other relatively safe villages. He added that the schools in the region were closed for almost one year and they wanted to resume the education.
He said that there were no pencils, books or notebooks but they still had been doing what they could do and did not let children forget their reading and writing skills.
He added that they would continue to train the children everyday they consider "safe".
A 14-year-old student, Elif Abak said she lost one school year because of "what Assad did". She said she would like to be a doctor and therefore should go back to school, and called for help.
