PARIS/BERLIN/ROME
Hundreds of pro-democracy protesters gathered in across European capitals, including Paris, Berlin and Rome on the third anniversary of January 25, 2011 revolution in Egypt.
Egyptians gathered in Denfer-Rocherau square in Paris protested against Egyptian Defence Minister Abdel Fattah el-Sisi and called for former President Mohamed Morsi, who was removed in a military coup, to be released from prison.
One of the demonstrators, Sumeyye Rahmani, said that while the whole world closed their eyes to the incidents that had occured since January 25, 2011, only Turkey had stood by Egyptian people since the very beginning.
Having followed closely the works of Anadolu Agency in Egypt, Rahmani said: "I would like to thank to ones who stand by us today. While the whole world were keeping their silence in view of the incidents, Turkey did not give up, they did not leave us alone. If Anadolu Agency had not been there, perhaps anyone did not know what had happened in Rabaa square. So thank you Turkey, thank you Anadolu Agency. People from Egypt will never forget those days."
Pro-democracy protesters in Berlin and Rome also held demonstrations.
