TEHRAN
Iranian Interior Ministry officially started to accept on Tuesday the nominations for the upcoming 11th presidential election which would take place in June.
Arriving at the Iranian Interior Ministry in the morning of the first day of the 5-day registration, Former Minister for Housing & Urban Development Mohammed Saidi-Kia, Former Minister for Health Kamran Baqeri Lankarani and Former Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council and Former Chief Nuclear Negotiator Hassan Rohani officially filed appliacations to become presidential candidates.
The former President Ayatollah Hashemi Rafsanjani, in his statement yesterday, announced that he could apply for nomination if Iranian religious leader Ayatollah Ali Khamanei approved.
