KARACHI, Pakistan
At least 30 people were killed and 20 others were injured in a clash between two tribes over a land dispute in northern Pakistan during the last 36 hours, local media said Saturday.
The clash was reported in the remote Dattakhel town of North Waziristan tribal region. Heavy arms, including rocket launchers were used in the fight, Pakistan’s Geo television reported.
Eight people were killed Friday, while 22 lost their lives in clashes Saturday, Geo said.
The clash was ongoing as Pakistan army remains engaged in a separate full-scale operation against Taliban militants in several parts of North Waziristan, one of the seven semiautonomous tribal regions in Pakistan, since June last.
