CAIRO (AA) - September 9, 2012 - A political adviser for the Free Syrian Army (FSA), Bessam Dade on Saturday said that there were only 20 Egyptian nationals fighting against Assad in Syria.
Speaking to the Anadolu Agency (AA) by phone, Dade stressed that the number of fighters who came from Arabic countries to Syria were 200 and only 20 of them were Egyptians.
"While we do not know which group they are attached to, we are only concerned about seeing them as the supporters of the Syrian revolution," Dade underlined.
"We primarily need arms and weapons and not fighters. We have enough number of troops on the field but their weapons are not sufficient," Dade also said.
Meanwhile, the Muslim Brotherhood Organization in Egypt have told the AA that they were against sending Egyptians to Syria to join the FSA and fight against the Assad regime.
"News reports in the Egyptian media do not reflect the truth. We do not send our youth to anywhere out of Egypt," Mahmoud Gazlan, the official spokesperson for the Egyptian Muslim Brotherhood Organization told the AA.
