Leader of Nigeria's Boko Haram militant group Abubakar Shekau has claimed his group's responsibility for the January 3 attack on Baga town in the country's northeastern region, threatening more violence with the "captured arms."
In a 35-minute video posted on YouTube, Shekau who spoke a mixture of Hausa and Arabic language boasted that "what we got in Baga and Doron Baga is enough to fight Nigeria, let alone Cameroon."
He went further to threaten to "deal" with the Nigerian President Goodluck Jonathan, opposition presidential candidate Muhammadu Buhari and all the country's governors "who subscribe to democracy."
Shekau also threatened to deal with the leaders of Cameroon, Chad and Niger for what he called their "actions against our soldiers."
The new video showed a large quantity of arms the militants claim to have seized from the headquarters of the Multi-National Joint Task Force in Baga.
"We remain undeterred and we will launch more attack," he added, before burning the flag of Nigeria. "we would soon hoist our [own] flags," he said.
The Nigerian army said last week that about 150 people were killed in the Baga massacre, although the Amnesty International insisted that figure was higher.
The London-based rights body added that over 3,700 structures were damaged or completely destroyed in the attack, while thousands were displaced.
