According to a report by Xinhua news agency, the infant died seven hours after the vaccine injection, which is allegedly produced in capital Beijing. The city's epidemic control center has launched an investigation into the issue.
The case brings the total number of neonatal deaths from Hepatitis B vaccines to nine, six of which have occurred since November.
The deaths have prompted officials nationwide to pull the vaccines off the shelves.
