Flight recorders from Malaysia Airlines flight MH17 arrived at the Department of Transport on Wednesday after a week of bickering that saw the U.S. and Ukraine accuse pro-Russian rebels of attempting to tamper with them.
The flight is believed to have been shot down over Donetsk in Eastern Ukraine July 17, resulting in the deaths of 298 people on board, including 10 Britons.
The department's Air Accidents Investigation Branch said on its website Wednesday that: “The recorders from MH17 have been delivered by the Dutch Safety Board to the AAIB Farnborough for download.”
The Netherlands - from where the flight originated and the majority of passengers came from - is leading the investigation into the crash.
British investigators are helping out by attempting to download flight data and cockpit voice recordings from the recorders.
MH17’s flight recorders were in the hands of pro-Russian rebels but were handed over to Malaysian authorities this week.
Two planes carrying the bodies of most of the victims arrived in the Netherlands Wednesday.
