BRUSSELS
Mali is hoping to establish long-term peace, President Oumar Tatam Ly said at the second leg of the observation meeting for supporting the development of Mali which started on Wednesday in Brussels.
The first observation meeting was held on the 7th November 2013, and an action plan was offered for 2013-2018 periods after the coup d'etat in 2012.
During the conference's opening speech Mali President Ly said that "what we are facing in Mali is tough, but we are committed to realizing our obligations."
Ly added, "Mali is a country with high targets, and we guarantee that international charities can monitor their donations in Mali."
Over 30 countries' related representatives along with European External Action Service (EEAS), World Bank, International Money Fund (IMF), United Nations (UN) and African Nations joined the meeting to discuss international support for Mali.
Ly also said, Mali succeeded to be able to live under a constitution since the coup d'etat in 2012 and we hope to establish long-term peace in our country.
In the charity campaign on 15th May 2013 with the slogan "Together for a new Mali", $3.3 billion were collected from international donations.
