TRIPOLI
Libya, which is passing through a reconstruction period after 42-year Gadhafi rule was toppled down, is willing to apply Turkish model in education.
Libyan Education Ministry presented a report to the government to apply Turkish model in the schools.
Libya is currently using Malaysian model in education.
If government approves the report, Libyan schools will meet Turkish model in the next education term.
Salim al-Magribi, an official from Libyan Education Ministry, told AA that Libya felt close to Turkey as it was a Muslim country too, thus, they were willing to use Turkish education model.
We have been impressed with the great change in Turkey in recent years, said al-Magribi, adding that they were taking the development in Turkey led by Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan as an example.
Erdogan has changed the country very much, he added.
Noting that Turkey was an example to Libya not only in education but also in every issue, al-Magribi said that Libya wanted to experience the same change with Turkey.
Al-Magribi added that they attached priority to two issues which were reconstruction of the collapsed schools and preparing a new curriculum.
Al-Magribi said that there were 2.2 million students in Libya which had nearly six million population.
