IRBIL (AA) - September 9, 2012 - The High Council of Kurds in Syria on Sunday condemned the military operations of the Assad administration and stated that the Kurds living in Sheikh Maqsood district of Aleppo were leaving the region.
In a statement released on Sunday, the High Council of Kurds pointed out that the Assad regime still favored a military option to solve the crisis in Syria.
"We condemn this brutal operation of the Assad regime," the High Council of Kurds stressed.
"Many civilians were either killed or wounded when Assad's military jets bombed the Sheikh Maqsood district in Aleppo on Thursday. Following the incident, the Kurds began to leave the region," the council said.
The High Council of Kurds was made up of Syrian Kurdish parties and organizations after they came together in Irbil last July for a meeting hosted by the leader of the regional administration in north of Iraq, Massoud Barzani.
