AMMAN
US Secretary of State John Kerry arrived in Amman on Friday in what diplomatic sources described as a surprise visit.
"Kerry arrived from Rome where he had attended an international conference to support Libya," the sources told Anadolu Agency, requesting anonymity for not being authorized to speak about the visit.
Washington's top diplomat is expected to meet later today with King Abdullah II on the latest developments regarding US-brokered Palestinian-Israeli peace talks, they added.
No official announcement has been made about the visit until the filing of this report.
