AL-QUDS
An Israeli soldier was reportedly stabbed on Thursday morning by unknown assailants in the Pisgat Ze'ev settlement in Al-Quds (occupied East Jerusalem).
According to the Israeli "Walla" news site, three unknown assailants stabbed the Israeli soldier in the leg and fled the scene.
Israeli ambulance crews treated the injured soldier and took him to the Hadassah Hospital, the news portal said.
Israeli police are currently searching for the three attackers, it added.
Israel occupied Al-Quds during the 1967 Middle East War. It later annexed the holy city in 1980, claiming it as the capital of the self-proclaimed Jewish state.
Palestinians, meanwhile, insist that Al-Quds – which is home to the Al-Aqsa Mosque, Islam's third holiest site – should be the capital of their future state.
They also accuse Israel of waging an aggressive campaign to "Judaize" the holy city with the aim of effacing its Arab and Islamic identity.
