TEHRAN, Iran
Iran’s President Hassan Rouhani discussed developments in the Muslim world with the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Secretary-General in Tehran on Wednesday.
"The OIC’s main task is to prevent the spilling of Muslim blood," Rouhani told Iyad Madani, underlining the need to unite the ummah - the worldwide community that shares religious beliefs.
OIC member countries must end the portrayal of Islam as a violent religion and help protect the Palestinian people from Israeli occupation, Rouhani stressed.
