TEHRAN (AA) - A drone which can launch missiles from Iran to most of the Middle East is unveiled on Monday by the Iranian defense minister who added, “enemies’ sanctions cannot prevent the development of our defense industry”.

Speaking at the inauguration ceremony Hosein Dehqan said, “The drone, made by Ministry of Defense’s Aviation Institution, has the ability to fulfill its war missions by launching missiles from air to surface besides its exploration and surveillance tasks” according to state’s official agency IRNA.

Fotros’ task fields are listed as “To defend land and sea borders, to observe the oil pipelines and telecommunication lines, to investigate the traffic control in streets and the areas affected by earthquake, fire and flood, to deliver professional photo and video as well as environmental protection during its missions”.

Dehqan, indicating the drone’s success in tests, also added, “Fotros performed successful test flights at low, normal and high speed. The Ministry of Defense became self-sufficient in designing and manufacturing drones”.

Fotros has a ride-time of 30 hours and 2000 kilometers of range. That means it covers the most of Middle-East.
