TRIPOLI (AA) – Libya's deputy intelligence chief Mustafa Noah has been released by his captors, Libyan intelligence sources said Monday.
"The abductors turned out to be from Zintan [in the country's northwest]," one of the sources said.
Noah is in good health, the source added without elaborating.
On Sunday, unknown assailants abducted Noah as he emerged from Tripoli International Airport.
Libyans have struggled to restore law and order to their country since the death two years ago of longstanding strongman Muammar Gaddafi.
The transitional government and its security forces, meanwhile, have struggled to contain the armed militias that helped overthrow Gaddafi but which held onto their weapons after the 2011 uprising.
