NEW YORK
A security agent was killed and at least 3 people were reportedly wounded at Los Angeles International Airport when an armed individual opened fire at a checkpoint in at 09:30 local time.
One person was shot and taken under custody in relation to the incident.
Eight to ten rounds of shots were heard at Los Angeles International Airport’s terminal 3, according to eyewitnesses.
Passengers at the terminal were evacuated immediately by security personnel to other terminals.
Police beefed up security measures in and around the airport after the shooting.
Police officials try to understand the motive of the gunman who reportedly used a semi-automatic weapon.
