Greece sees 2nd highest daily virus cases since May

ATHENS

Greece on Tuesday reported 416 new coronavirus cases, the country’s second highest single-day rise since May.

Five more deaths were also recorded over the last 24 hours, according to the National Public Health Organization (EODY).

Athens still remains the epicenter of new infections, registering 240 of the total 416 recorded cases.

The total number of cases in the country rose to 18,123, with the death toll reaching 388.

Meanwhile, health authorities are concerned with the recent spike in coronavirus cases and have set up mobile units to conduct rapid tests.

Among other measures are the creation of temporary isolation facilities.
