CAIRO (AA) – Egypt's interim President Adly Mansour has appointed former UN nuclear chief Mohammed ElBaradei as his vice-president for foreign relations, the presidency said in a statement.
ElBaradei was among the figures who met military chief and Defense Minister Abdel Fatah al-Sisi and agreed on a roadmap for Egypt that included the ouster of elected President Mohammad Morsi, temporary suspending the constitution and naming the head of the constitutional court as interim president.
The Nobel Peace Prize Laureate is credited for championing a campaign for change in Egypt under then President Hosni Mubarak, who had led the country since 1981.
