CAIRO
Egypt's interim President Adly Mansour decided on Sunday to amend the transitional roadmap to hold presidential polls before parliamentary elections.
"I have conducted dialogues with various political forces and most of them wanted presidential elections first," Mansour said in a televised address to the nation.
"I have, therefore, decided to change the roadmap to have presidential polls first," he added.
The transitional roadmap, imposed by the army with its ouster of elected president Mohamed Morsi on July 3, stipulates that parliamentary elections should be held first.
The new constitution, however, gives the interim president the right to change the order of the roadmap.
