CAIRO
An Egyptian court on Sunday slapped 16 supporters of ousted president Mohamed Morsi with 90-month jail terms each on unlicensed protests and road-blocking charges.
The case relates to violence that marred protests staged by pro-democracy supporters during the October 6 celebrations marking a 1973 Egyptian military victory over Israel.
At least 53 people were killed and scores injured during the violence nationwide, according to the Egyptian Health Ministry.
