CAIRO
An Egyptian court on Monday adjourned until Tuesday the trial of former president Hosni Mubarak and several co-defendants charged with inciting murder in 2011.
Mubarak, former interior minister Habib al-Adly and six other Interior Ministry officials are accused of inciting the murder of hundreds of anti-regime protesters during Egypt's January 2011 uprising, which ended Mubarak's 30-year rule.
The ex-president, his two sons and Egyptian business tycoon Hussein Salem also face charges of financial corruption, abuse of power, profiteering and exporting Egyptian natural gas to Israel at below-market prices.
Mubarak is currently being treated at a military hospital in southern Cairo.
In late 2012, Mubarak and al-Adly were sentenced to 25 years in prison each for inciting the killing of anti-government demonstrators.
The court later ordered a retrial, however, after the former president's lawyers successfully appealed the jail sentence.
