ISLAMABAD
Pakistani Constitutional Court said Tuesday that on the contrary to the news reports, Pakistani Prime Minister Raja Pervaiz Ashraf had not been arrested yet.
The Court said it was true that Ashraf was removed from the office and a warrant of arrest was issued about him, however he had not been arrested yet.
Earlier in the day, the court stated that it issued a warrant of arrest as Ashraf was involved in corruption in mobile energy leasing projects, causing a great loss for the country while he was serving as water and energy minister.
Denying the news reports in media, the court noted that a decision was made to arrest the premier, but an order had not been made to arrest him.
The Court is expecting Ashraf to hand over the documents asked from him till Wednesday.
