A car bomb in the Syrian border town of Atmah killed 16 people, including women and children, and wounded 65 others on Sunday, according to initial reports.
The Syrian Revolution General Commission (SRGC), a coalition of several opposition groups, said in a statement that a bomb-laden vehicle had exploded near the Orient Hospital in the opposition-held town.
The SRGC also said that several of the wounded are in critical condition.
Five of the injured, including a child, were transferred to a state hospital in Turkey's Reyhanli District, according to an AA correspondent.
No groups have claimed responsibility for the attack.
According to the latest UN figures, more than 100,000 people have been killed in Syria's three-year conflict, while 3.5 million have been internally displaced.
Over two million are now registered as refugees in Turkey, Lebanon and Iraq.
