Al-Assad forces are bombing historical Aleppo Castle.
Syrian National Council (SNC) stated that al-Assad forces attacked Aleppo Castle and destroyed the marble sign bearing the name of the castle.
Defining it as an attack on humanity, SNC asked UNESCO to take action in order to protect the castle which is in world heritage list.
Aleppo Castle is considered to be one of the oldest and largest castles in the world. Usage of the Citadel hill dates back at least to the middle of the 3rd millennium BC.
