Türkiye celebrated its National Sovereignty and Children’s Day and the 103rd anniversary of the foundation of the country’s parliament on Sunday.
The country also started repatriation operations in Sudan for its citizens as a conflict between the army and Rapid Support Forces (RSF) continues.
Türkiye’s largest warship TCG Anadolu rendered a 21-gun salute in honor of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan as it sailed through the Istanbul Strait on its way to the Black Sea.
Germany and France also began to evacuate their citizens from the African country, while the UK armed forces completed a complex and rapid evacuation of British diplomats and their families from conflict-ridden Sudan.
The US said it evacuated embassy staff and their families from Sudan’s capital Khartoum.
Pope Francis, meanwhile, called for an immediate end to violence in Sudan, saying that the situation there remains serious.
Moving on, Serbia’s president signaled a possible referendum on the Ohrid Agreement for the normalization of relations between Serbia and Kosovo.
An official from Moscow warned that it will terminate the Black Sea Grain Initiative if the Group of Seven (G-7) decides on implementing a total ban on exports to Russia.
Russian missile strikes on Ukraine’s eastern Kharkiv region damaged multiple civilian sites.
