DAMASCUS (AA) - Reports in Syrian media claim that Abu Mohammed al-Jolani, leader of the Al Nusra Front fighting against the Assad regime, was killed in the Latakia countryside.
The Dampress website known for its closeness with the Damascus administration published the reports based on information obtained from military sources, but did not indicate the conditions under which al-Jolani died.
Syria's state television later pulled the reports from its website without providing an explanation.
Meanwhile, the London-based Syrian Network for Human Rights (SNHR) said reports of al-Jolani's murder had not yet been verified.
