
One teacher and 18 students were killed Saturday when flames engulfed their school bus after a natural gas cylinder on the vehicle exploded in Gujrat city, some 200 kilometers southeast of Pakistan's capital, Islamabad.
Police said the bus was carrying 25 people and the children who died in the incident were aged between 8 and 12.
At least six more children were rushed to hospitals.
Police said the bus driver escaped the fire unharmed, adding that he ran away after the incident.
